Large-Scale Oscillations of the Atmospheric Circulation in the Southern Hemisphere and Their Influence on Climate Change in Some Regions of the Globe in the 20th Century

G. V. Gruza, E. Ya. Ran’kova, and E. V. Rocheva

The Antarctic Oscillation and its connections with other modes of large-scale circulation and climate parameter variations are studied from the reanalysis data. The estimates of tendencies of the current Antarctic climate changes are presented. It is considered whether the reanalysis data are suitable in studying the Antarctic climate and its changes. The results of the intercomparison of the reanalysis data with station observation and with statistics calculated from these data are discussed.
