The Effect of Meteorological Conditions Prior to Ice Run on the Extent of Ice Jam Floods on the Lena River

Generalized information about frequency, extent, and consequences of ice-jam floods in the Middle Lena River is presented. Demonstrated is the possibility of estimation of their probability with the use of data on air temperature in the period preceding the beginning of flood and ice run.
