Numerical Simulation of Heat and Mass Transport in Water Bodies

V. S. Nikiforovskaya

Presented is the numerical simulation of heat and mass transport in complex open channel systems using the mathematical models and numerical methods based on one- and two-dimensional (longitudinal-vertical) equations of shallow water (Saint Venant equations). The models take account of real morphometric and hydraulic characteristics of channels of the water system under consideration. Analyzed are the problems of adequacy of physical and mathematical models. Given are the examples of numerical computations of unsteady flows (hydrodynamic regime and transport of substances) in the open-channel and lake-river systems.
