DIAGNOSIS OF HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL QUANTITIES FROM SATELLITE MICROWAVE AND INFRARED MEASUREMENTS OF THE EARTH'S OUTGOING HEAT RADIATION

M. V. Bukharov

The methodological basis of a new conception of all-weather, surface-independent diagnosis of hydrometeorological quantities from a complex of multi¬spectral microwave and IR synchronous information is considered. It is shown that this approach provides the improvement of diagnostic satellite data and a significant extension of the number of computed meteorological quantities. The possibility of using the proposed approach for solution of other meteorological problems is discussed.
