A. M. Zvyagintsev, N. S. Ivanova, G. M. Kruchenitskii, I. N. Kuznetsova, and V. I. Demin

The review is compiled from the results of the operation of the Total Ozone (TO) Monitoring System in the CIS and Baltic countries functioning in the operative regime at the Central Aerological Observatory (CAO). The Monitoring System uses data from the national network of filter ozonometers, type M-124, operating under the methodological control of the Main Geophysical Observatory (MGO). The quality control of the entire system is performed based on the observations with the satellite TOMS/EP equipment. The basic results of observations of TO for each month of the first quarter of 2005 and for the quarter as a whole are generalized. Considered are the results of both regular observations of surface ozone in the forest zone of Moscow carried out since 1991 that characterize the ozone state in the surface layer in the Central region, and observations performed by the Polar Geophysical Institute of the Kola Research Center of the RAS in the Murmansk region.
