The Depth of Inland penetration of the Sea BrEEze on the Northwestern Black Sea Coast

V. I. Petrov and E. I. Potapov

On the basis of radar and synoptic data obtained in the Weather Modification State Company of Moldova Republic for the 1987–2000 period, the depth of inland penetration of the sea breeze AND ASSOCIATED INTENSITY OF CONVECTION IN THE COASTAL ZONE OF THE NORTHWESTERN Black Sea (southwest of the Odessa region, Ukraine, and the south of Moldova) have been studied. Fire types of inland penetration of the sea breeze are found. It is shown that the most intense convection is associated with the second type of penetration where the highest frequency of hail clouds observed (44.1%). Comparison of the integral picture of radar echo of cumulonimbus clouds (RECC) with the different types of inland penetration of the sea breeze is carried out. It is shown that the structures of RECC developing in the coastal zone are independent of the types of inland penetration of the sea breeze.
