SOME RESULTS OF SURFACE OZONE MONITORING ON THE KOLA PENINSULA (1999—2003)

V. I. Demin, M. I. Beloglazov, and N. F. Elanskii

On the basis of the four years of observations on the Kola Peninsula, the frequency of the hourly mean values of surface ozone concentration (SOC) is calculated. The SOC annual and diurnal (in different seasons) courses under various levels of anthropogenic pollution are considered and compared with the corresponding data of monitoring at stations located in Northern Europe. It is shown that the SOC diurnal dynamics in different seasons can be qualitatively described on the basis of general concepts of dynamic processes in the atmospheric boundary layer.
