MARKOV PROCESSES IN THE PROBLEM OF PREDICTION OF THE LEVEL OF A CLOSED BASIN

M. V. Bolgov

Markov stochastic models of hydrological variables are considered. The variables represent so-called forcing processes in the theory of level fluctuations of a closed basin. Methods of constructing two-dimensional distribution laws, approaches to modeling artificial flow sequences on the basis of some results of the theory of stochastic differential equations, and forecast estimates of the level regime are discussed as applied to the Caspian Sea.
