CHEMICAL ASPECTS OF CIRRUS CLOUD FORMATION

N. N. Morar

The drop solutions entering the Earth air shell contain different amounts of chemical components whose concentration changes with the increased height of the drop rise. The drop solutions are saturated because, as a result of friction, evaporation, and atmospheric gas dissolution, the drops lose water molecules. As chemical compounds exceed the solubility product, the crystallization starts in drops and crystalline hydrates are formed inside drop solutions and outside them from the wall inward. The crystals form the basis of cirrus clouds.
