VARIATIONS OF THERMODYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF ATMOSPHERIC CIRCULATION WITH ANOMALOUS VALUES OF TROPOSPHERIC WATER CONTENT FROM NCEP/NCAR REANALYSIS

A. I. Degtyarev

Results of diagnostic calculations of the time variability of thermodynamic characteristics of atmospheric circulation with anomalous values of the tropospheric water content in the Northern Hemisphere are presented. The calculations are carried out using NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data. It is shown that the position of the centers of actions of the atmosphere in the Northern Hemisphere is different in years with the high and low values of precipitable water. The differences have a dipole character. The calculations are made for sea-level pressure, 500-hPa geopotential height, the wind modulus at 200 hPa, and precipitation amounts.
