The review is compiled based on the results of the operation of the Total Ozone (TO) Monitoring System in the CIS and Baltic states functioning at the Central Aerological Observatory (CAO) in the operational regime. The Monitoring System uses data from the national network of M-124 filter ozonometers operating under the methodological control of the Main Geophysical Observatory (MGO). The quality control of the entire system is performed in the real time based on the satellite TOMS/EP data. The basic results of TO observations for each month of the third quarter of 2004 and for the quarter as a whole are summarized. Regular observations of surface ozone concentration, which have been carried out by CAO in the forest zone of Moscow since 1991 and characterize the state of surface ozone in central Russia, are presented. The data are compared with the surface ozone measurements made at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP) of the Russian Academy of Sciences and at the Polar Geophysical Institute of the Kola Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (KRC RAS) in the Murmansk region.
