ESTIMATION OF AIR TEMPERATURE AND PRECIPITATION CHANGES IN LARGE CITIES (BY EXAMPLE OF MOSCOW AND NEW YORK)

K. G. Rubinshtein and A. S. Ginzburg

Results of studying the influence of anthropogenic factors on trends of annual and seasonal temperatures and precipitation are presented. The temperatures are obtained from data of Moscow and Moscow region's meteorological stations in the second half of the 20th century. A comparison with data of long-term mea¬surements of analogous meteorological elements in New York is performed. The estimates of temperature and precipitation change in the Moscow region and New York at the beginning of the 21st century are obtained from observed trends and experiments with climatic hydrodynamic models of the Hydrometeorological Research Center of Russia and UKMO's Hadley Center for Climate Prediction and Research.
