CHARACTERISTICS OF THUNDERSTORM CORES IN YAKUTIA IN 1993—2001 FROM INSTRUMENTAL OBSERVATIONS

A technique of single-site radio direction finding of thunderstorms (telemetry) is proposed for locating lightning discharges. A procedure for identifying thunderstorm cores by cluster analysis is described. Some characteristics of thunderstorm cores and space distributions of storm discharges in Yakutia for 1993—2001 are presented.
