SPATIAL AND TEMPORAL VARIATIONS OF SNOW DEPTH IN THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE

L. M. Kitaev

Spatial and temporal variations of the snow depth in North America and northern Eurasia during 1967–1982 are considered. Significant differences in the snow depth and its long-term trends are found. There is a weak correlation between snow storage changes in different regions. Spatial features of the correlation between snow storage and the North Atlantic Oscillation index agree with the atmospheric circulation characteristics.
