MODELING THE INTERANNUAL VARIABILITY OF ASIAN TROPICAL MONSOON

A. I. Degtyarev and O. P. Skrotskaya

Results of ten-year numerical experiment for modeling the general atmo¬spheric circulation with respect to interannual variability of Asian tropical monsoon are discussed. Analysis of wind conditions at the 850-hPa isobaric surface and precipitation in the region has shown that the model simulates the monsoon circulation successfully. The standard precipitation deviations obtained over the ten-year interval showed a year-to-year variability of tropical monsoon. Interannual fluctuations of heat balance near the underlying surface and those of the atmospheric water content in the region are analyzed.
