REGIONAL HYDRODYNAMIC ATMOSPHERIC CLIMATE MODEL FOR RUSSIA

I. M. Shkolnik, V. P. Meleshko, and T. V. Pavlova

A finite-difference regional climate model nested in a global spectral atmo¬spheric general circulation model is dealt with. A nested grid method of one-way interaction is used. The model incorporates 14 different-in-mass layers in the σ-systemof coordinates. An average horizontal step of the model grid is 50 km. The package of parametrization of diabatic processes in the regional model is the same as in the global model. Parametrization is briefly described with particular emphasis on the last modified methods of parametrization of convective and hydrological processes. The regional climate model is designed to study climate variations and changes and long-term weather forecast for a limited area. The results of regional model integration for summertime are described. They are compared with the actual data and the results of global model integration.
