THE INFLUENCE OF ANNUAL INTERSEASONAL RELATIONSHIPS ON THERMAL SOIL CONDITIONS IN PERMAFROST REGIONS

V. V. Simonov

The multiboundary Stefan problem is solved for a permafrost region whose lower boundary is one of the internal parameters of the model. A complete annual cycle of thermal conditions is discussed and the dependence of some of its regime characteristics on soil heat conductivity and moisture is analyzed. A large time lag of heat-exchange processes is shown to make annual interseasonal relationships very important.
