THE PROBLEM OF STATISTICAL CONTROL OF OBSERVATION DATA ON SURFACE TEMPERATURE AT DISTANT STATIONS

Considered is a method of statistical time control of meteorological variable using the regression on sampling principal components of calendar intervals. Variance of the error of regression on sampling principal components is estimated. A numerical example is analyzed on the basis of measurement data on mean daily surface air temperature in St. Petersburg.
