VARIABILITY OF THE KARA SEA WATER IONIC COMPOSITION AND DETERMINATION OF SALINITY IN THE RIVER—SEA INTERACTION ZONES

A. G. Tsytsarin and N. V. Ovinova

The paper is devoted to the study of metamorphization of the basic ionic composition of waters: from fresh river waters to sea water proper. A characteristic salinity range for the quasi-equilibrium state of the water-salt system is established, and the lower and upper levels of a carbonate-calcium barrier in the river—sea interaction zone are determined. An equation relating the sum of salts with chlorinity for waters with salinity above 5%0 is proposed.
