Methods of experimental investigations of sediment transport and bottom relief dynamics under the influence of unsteady motion of water flow are considered. An optimal structure and a step-type behavior of water flow parameters, sediments, and bottom relief are proposed for the cases of sharp and smooth variations in hydraulic characteristics of unsteady flow.
