DEVIATION OF PRESSURE FIELD FROM ITS HYDROSTATIC VALUE IN THE TYPHOON

E. M. Dobryshman and N. K. Turbaevskaya

Pressure deviations from the hydrostatic balance in different parts of a deep typhoon at every stage of its growth and decay are estimated by two methods: an individual derivative of vertical velocity is calculated from the weight deficit for the air column and from the wind field. The estimates are found to be close to each other. In the deep typhoon, the imbalance can reach 1 m/s2 in the eyewall and 0.6 m/s2 at the radius of maximum winds.
