NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF RADAR AND STATION CLOUD OBSERVATIONS

A method of numerical analysis of cloud fields is proposed. The method is based on variational adjustment of radar and station data. The error of the analysis of the calculated cloud fields against the station observation fields is presented. The method can be used to obtain cloud distribution fields in data-sparse areas.
