FEATURES OF TROPICAL CYCLONE LANDFALL IN THE FAR EAST OF RUSSIA IN 1970—1999

On the basis of Tropical Cyclone 1970—1999 database, characteristics of tropical cyclones (TCs) in the Far East of Russia are considered. Statistical analysis is performed of their landfall frequency. Four main groups of TC trajectories are determined as affecting certain regions of the Far East of Russia. Averaged trajectories for these groups are calculated. Examples are considered of the most intense TC affecting this region. Some forecasting recommendations are obtained on the TC landfall in the south areas of the Far East.
