SEASONAL AND DIURNAL VARIATIONS OF THE VERTICAL PROFILE OF THE REFRACTIVE INDEX IN THE ATMOSPHERIC SURFACE LAYER

Seasonal and diurnal variations of the vertical profiles of atmospheric refractive indices were analyzed with the use of data reconstructed from temperature and wind soundings. It was demonstrated that a great divergence of daily and average profiles of the refractive index in the surface layer was typical of the spring—summer period.
