THREE-DIMENSIONAL MODELING OF THE WIND AND TURBULENCE FIELDS IN THE VICINITY OF A WIND FARM

Numerical simulations of the wind flow and turbulence characteristics inside and in the vicinity of a wind farm are analyzed. The basis of the simulation is a three-dimensional model of the boundary layer over an inhomogeneous surface. The influence of the urban area, seashore, and vegetation on the wind distribution inside the wind farm is discussed.
